Legat Architects' Crystal Lake studio welcomes Cub Scout Pack 168
[Crystal Lake, IL, April 29, 2009] – Crystal Lake Cub Scout Pack 168 visited Legat Architects’ Crystal Lake studio to earn the architecture portion of the Engineering Activity Badge.
Brice Alt, architect and Eagle Scout, gave the 14 scouts a studio tour. They saw workstations, the printing center, and models including the Crystal Lake Metra train station. The scouts then gathered in the conference room. Alt, drawing from seven years of experience, showed them images of famous buildings, and led a discussion about design and the building process. After examining plans from Woodstock North High School and Wauconda High School, the scouts drew floor plans of their own homes.
“I think I made quite an impression,” says Alt. “When I asked them if they could name any architects, they came up with two names: Frank Lloyd Wright and Brice Alt.”
