Westminster Village celebrates health center renovation | By Paul Swiech,

[Bloomington, IL] — Martin Health Center, the skilled nursing facility of Westminster Village, has received a $5.1 million facelift.

The renovation and expansion project was celebrated Friday with tours and an open house at 2025 E. Lincoln St.

“We are a 30-year-old business that was starting to look 30 years old,” said Westminster Village Executive Director Lynn DeCair during a tour of the skilled nursing facility.

“It was time for a facelift.”Donna Rae Alsene, 79, who lives in a Westminster Village apartment with her husband, Ed, was pleased with the outcome. “It seems so much roomier, and the new entrance is great,” she said.

The Alsenes come to Martin Health Center to use the new wellness and therapy center, which is open to all 310 Westminster residents, including those of the duplex units, independent living apartments and licensed assisted living apartments.
