About Legat: Energized by Challenges

Legat Architects works with building owners, institutions, and communities to overcome challenges through the design of facilities that improve the performance and lives of the people who use them.

We’re a mid-sized architecture firm. That means you get the training, resources, support, and variety to advance your skills. It also means that you’re not just a number or a commodity—you’re part of a vital community whose members know you and respect what you do. We don’t want to offer you a job; we want you to choose to build your career at Legat.

Legat offers architecture and interior design services from our studios in Columbus, Ohio and Chicago, Gurnee, Oak Brook, and Moline, Illinois. Our portfolio ranges from one of the nation’s first homeland security education centers to one of the highest-ranking LEED certified facilities in the Midwest. As marketing coordinator, you’ll be working with information related to hotels, intensive care units, performing arts centers, STEM labs, and many more types of spaces.

Other benefits at Legat include:

  • We cover 100% of full-time employees’ healthcare premiums!
  • We go one step further and cover about 75% of premiums for family coverage.
  • We are employee owned, so we make decisions that benefit our employees, our client relationships, and the long-term health of our firm.
  • Job security: during the recession of 2008, 25% of Chicago-area architects were unemployed and many firms had major layoffs. Legat chose to avoid recession-related layoffs.

We also applaud individual accomplishments and reward teamwork:

  • At Quarterly TNLs (Thursday Night Learns), all employees gather (often at a Legat-designed facility) to celebrate achievements, build our skills, and socialize.
  • Employees have fun at annual firmwide and individual studio outings.
  • ShareFest events allow us to create, design, build, and auction our artwork to raise money for not-for-profit organizations.
  • Each year, Legat’s Chicago ThinkTank assembles designers, building owners, academics, and AEC leaders to explore the impact of design.
  • A weekly newsletter keeps employees in the loop with what’s happening around the company, whether it’s announcing an engagement, introducing a new employee, or celebrating completion of a project milestone.
