Jeffersonian Inspiration

The design, inspired by Thomas Jefferson’s strategy for the University of Virginia, uses a brick-paved quadrangle that extends from a downtown main street towards Lake Michigan.

A gallery of student spaces surrounds the quadrangle. Courtyards flanking the gallery are surrounded by classroom space. A raised, long-span conference center frames Lake Michigan.

A sun-filled piazza wraps an existing building.
