Galesburg Transit Maintenance Facility
New facility improves operational efficiencies, enables upkeep and storage of vehicles from two transportation branches
Galesburg Transit’s deteriorating maintenance facility only fit one bus. Galesburg Handivan, which serves people with special transit needs, stored all its vans outside. Personnel from both branches were crowded into small offices.
The new Transit Maintenance Facility brings Galesburg Transit and Galesburg Handivan an energy-efficient and spacious home. The 20,300-square-foot structure includes offices and maintenance and wash bays, as well as indoor storage for the entire fleet of both branches.
