The Golden Age of Rail

The station adopts the Richardsonian Romanesque style, which was commonly used for train stations during the golden age of train travel.

“The style creates an energetic atmosphere that reflects downtown Glenview’s historic look.”

Timeless Materials

Brick and rusticated stone trim create a sense of permanence and warmth, while a clock tower creates a civic marker.

Rustic Interiors

The 3,500-square-foot station includes a waiting room, ticket office, baggage storage, vending area, toilet rooms, and warming shelters.

Design Details

Red masonry energizes the facility, while stone strengthens the building’s base and forms an arch that defines the main entry. Recessed windows draw attention to the masonry.
