Library/Computer Lab Renovation
Library/computer lab facelift appeals to next generation of students
Governor State University’s (GSU) library was dated and in desperate need of a makeover. A 24,000-square-foot renovation transformed the dark, dull spaces into vibrant and collaborative learning settings.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Students interact in breakout spaces along a corridor three times as wide as the previous one.
- Large glass walls display the technology, furnishings, and activity that await within the library and labs.
- “Core” offers media access, study tables, multimedia tables, and informal gathering space.
- Glass-enclosed and open study nooks allow students to work on group projects in a quiet area.
