Facility Services Building
Energy-efficient building consolidates facility service/maintenance departments, vehicles, and equipment under one roof to improve efficiencies
Scattered temporary buildings housed the custodial, maintenance, planning/construction, and roads/grounds staff at Joliet Junior College (JJC). The ’70s-era structures had ineffective layouts and no vehicle storage.
In partnership with the Illinois Capital Development Board, JJC and Legat achieved an operationally- and energy-efficient facility for the 85 professionals who maintain the college’s buildings, site, and landscaping. Main components of the 42,000-square-foot Facility Services Building include administrative offices, shops, and heated vehicle storage.
