Auditorium: A Shared Resource

The auditorium is a resource for not only middle school students, but also for the whole district community. It hosts student performances, presentations, and competitions, as well as parent groups, district-wide events, and outside performers.

“It’s like being in a concert hall. There’s an element of pride. You see it in both the students who perform better and the parents and grandparents, who are more involved in what their children are doing on stage.”

STEAM Lab: Where Disciplines Unite

In the new STEAM (i.e., science, technology, engineering, arts, math) lab, students work on self-directed projects that help them build the collaboration and problem-solving skills that will give them a competitive edge.

“Typically, schools have separate classrooms for math, language arts, social studies, science, and other subjects. The STEAM lab unites all of these in an open, flexible space where students can research, design, and construct projects.”

2D and 3D Art Rooms

Two light-filled art rooms give students views to the new courtyard.

Orchestra Room

The spacious orchestra room includes clerestories (high windows) that bring in light, acoustic panes, recording equipment, and a humidified instrument closet.
