Expansion concept promotes student interaction and strengthens connections to technology, outdoors
Students cut across a parking lot to avoid a cramped corridor that connected the original Stevenson High School and a 90s expansion.
A design concept expands and revives the corridor to reduce congestion and create more flexible places for students to congregate. It features three “Information and Learning Centers” along the connecting corridor.
- Underused circle drive transforms into an Outdoor Information and Learning Center that accommodates small or large classes, community meetings, and plays
- Tech support station
- Café-style study area
- Seating galleries along stair
- Teaching panels to create small lecture areas
- Edible landscapes
