Ben Elmer

Associate

Ben Elmer is a true team player. Whether the challenge is creating a ceiling plan or finding ways to meet the client’s budget, he is quick to assist his coworkers. Ben helps keep the mood in our Quad Cities studio professional and productive, yet easygoing. He enjoys the vast array of projects that come across his desk. These range from retrofits to new performing arts centers.

As a child, Ben loved building with Tinkertoy sets and Lincoln Logs. He comes from a family with deep roots in the restaurant industry, which inspired his transition to architecture—it was while creating “plentiful, well-organized, and beautiful platters” complete with tomato roses and apple birds that Ben realized he wanted to become an architect. While working as a lead grill chef at a high-end Denver chophouse, Ben pursued his architecture degree at the University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver).

He carried over to his architectural career the lessons he learned in the high-stress restaurant industry—he insists on a positive attitude and a willingness to switch tasks and help those who need it.

And Ben’s coworkers are always delighted when he treats them to his culinary delights.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Architecture and Planning.
