Senior Network Engineer
Eric helps Legat’s IT department with network maintenance, troubleshooting, and making sure that all systems run smoothly. He splits most of his time between our Chicago and Oak Brook studios.
During his 20-year tech career, Eric has held a variety of positions including field technician at an IT company and IT systems administrator at a global sports rehab outfit.
Eric’s time in the U.S. Navy took him everywhere from Mississippi to the tiny Italian island of La Maddalena. It was as a Navy storekeeper that Eric first started tinkering with technology. He used a “dumb terminal” (i.e., depends on a host computer for its processing power) to transition his and other storerooms from antiquated punch cards to a more efficient digitalized system. After that, it was much easier for the Navy to dole out supplies and keep track of who had what.
A lifelong resident of Chicago’s South Side, Eric coaches his son’s school basketball team and his daughter’s park district soccer team. Eric is an avid golfer who plays “sometimes well, sometimes not.” During each of the last few years, he has come within one foot of a hole-in-one. Maybe this is the year.
