Proposal Specialist

Nick Blanusha merges a formal education in public relations and advertising with real-world architecture/engineering/construction industry experience to lead Legat’s proposal efforts.

Based in our Chicago studio, Nick analyzes the needs and technical challenges of potential clients, then works with our marketing team to craft a response that aligns firm experience and personnel.

Before joining Legat, Nick was an estimator and project manager at a Chicago masonry repair/restoration company. He met with potential clients, assessed their buildings, determined a problem, provided an estimate, and managed the project from start to finish.

Nick also worked at a national public affairs and strategy advisory firm. His work there ranged from writing pitches about green energy tech or intersection safety to blogging about food scarcity in developing nations.

When Nick earned his B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising from DePaul University, he became a third-generation Blue Demon — not only did his father graduate from DePaul in the 80s, but Nick’s grandparents also met there.

Nick has sailed competitively since the early 2000s. In 2019, he and his team of 15 took second place in their fleet at the 12 Metre World Championships held in Newport, Rhode Island.
