Senior Architect | Project Manager | Studio Director
During design and construction projects, building owners often get pressure from users, communities, and other stakeholders. The goal of Paul Garland, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB is to reduce that pressure and make his clients’ jobs easier.
As leader of our Columbus studio, Paul helps clients no matter what they need, from advice on a small renovation to designing a $20 million new facility. Whether his client is a school superintendent or business manager, a municipal facility manager, or a hospital clinician, he provides information that is clear and timely.
For instance, Paul’s leadership of over 300,000 square feet of additions and renovations at Newark High School resulted in zero lost school days, plus the three-year project finished on-time and under budget.
Paul also always makes himself available to our Columbus staff . . . even if he’s in the middle of working toward a deadline.
Frequently, Paul is invited to speak on career day at schools. “Wouldn’t it be great,” he asks students, “to get paid for drawing all day and for creating settings in which so many positive experiences will take place?”
In 2006, Paul volunteered as a coach for his son’s team. Today, he is head coach for the Player Development team of Columbus Crew SC.
Paul holds a Master of Architecture from Boston Architectural College, a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Ohio State University, and an Associate of Applied Science (focus on engineering) from the State University of New York at Alfred.
