Generations at Neighbors

    Healthcare Interiors Senior Living Wellness

With a history of providing quality healthcare for over four decades, Generations at Neighbors is a vibrant facility with a small-town heart.

Additions and renovations bring new short-term care and expanded long-term care options to Generations at Neighbors

The Generations at Neighbors rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility had changed little since it was built in the 1970s. Over 50,000 square feet in expansions and upgrades support a new short-term rehab program, create more gathering areas for residents and family members, and improve caregiver efficiency.

Earth tones, bright colors, and warm materials create a “country cottage” feel, and the artwork features regional highlights.

The ice cream parlor/internet café located near the entry is a favorite among residents and families. The project also brings a resident-run country store.

The short-term rehab addition includes 14 private rooms and eight semi-private rooms. All rooms offer private bathrooms, a visitor zone, and a bar area with microwave and refrigerator.

A physical therapy space (used by all residents) triples the size of the previous one. The addition also has a “rehab” room with simulated kitchen, grocery store, and bedroom to practice daily living tasks.

Renovations created a much larger core space featuring a central caregiver station. The Harvest, a private dining room in the rehab wing, has a decorative wall that complements the wall feature in the renovated main dining room. A large skylight illuminates the end of one corridor, which offers gathering space and leads to The Harvest.

The expansion and remodel have improved quality of life for residents and enhanced staff morale. Additionally, it’s a great place for family members and friends to visit. There’s a real community feel.
