Adventures launch at visitor center that highlights park’s natural splendor and cultural heritage
A new visitor center integrates nature and sustainability to engage and educate Mohican State Park visitors.
The 2,900-square-foot facility, tucked along the Clear Fork of the Mohican River, features natural tones and accents to complement the surrounding forest. The stone base, for instance, echoes the stone outcroppings throughout the park.
The interior offers interactive exhibits, a commons area with a fireplace, a merch zone, and many details that bring Mohican’s story to life. An Amish woodworker located two miles from the site built and installed all the timber trusses.
This facility is designed to blend seamlessly with the park’s natural beauty while providing modern amenities and educational opportunities for our visitors. It will enhance the overall experience for everyone who comes to explore and enjoy one of Ohio’s most cherished parks.
