Audrey Riggs

Associate

Audrey Riggs, AIA designs projects that reflect and connect the building owner’s history, culture, vision, and site. Whether the facility is a school, an athletic facility, or a public works center, she considers how the design will respond to current needs and adapt to future needs. Among her recent projects are the new Ottawa YMCA and the Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group Naperville renovation.

A licensed architect, Audrey also participates in design charrettes during which she helps clients and their communities develop spaces that promote productivity and occupant health.

One client had a limited budget and tight site—additions weren’t an option. Audrey and her team interviewed staff members, then she designed options for working within the existing footprint including adjacencies that the client had not considered.

Audrey helped create the curriculum for the Azuela Architecture Club, an afterschool program at the Mariano Azuela Elementary School in Chicago.

When time permits, Audrey enjoys walking, biking, and running along forest preserve or river trails. She earned her architecture degree with a minor in urban studies at Iowa State University.
