Bryan Archibald

Senior Associate | Creative Director

After he received a degree in criminal justice, Bryan Archibald, Associate AIA, LEED AP wasn’t quite satisfied: he felt a strong need to better express his creativity. So he earned another degree, in architecture.

Bryan’s dual degrees allowed him to play a key role in the College of DuPage’s trailblazing Homeland Security Education Center and Homeland Security Training Center.

Design teams respect Bryan’s ability to ask questions that challenge convention. He’s not afraid to bend the “rules” of traditional design to spark conversations and change perspectives.

Recently, Bryan drew from the art form of origami for a cost effective facelift at Conrady Junior High School. New patterns redefined wall, floor, and ceiling surfaces and energized classroom entries.

Among Bryan’s other achievements are the first LEED Gold certified community college maintenance building and a school addition that uses light shades and a shifting window rhythm to bring equal daylight to every classroom.

Evidence of Bryan’s passion for the design process can be found throughout his home: he has designed and built beds, bookshelves, chairs, desks, and artwork.

Bryan holds bachelor’s degrees in architecture and criminal justice from Southern Illinois University.
