Saon Das Mathew, AIA, LEED GA, CLGB, a regional director of our healthcare team, finds creative solutions to design problems. Examples range from applying cruise ship design principles to maximize the use of tight hospital spaces to retrofitting a bank into a dermatology clinic.

She balances aesthetics with budget to translate the client’s vision into the built environment. Among her strengths are medical planning, 3D modeling and rendering, bidding and negotiations, permit documentation, and construction administration.

Saon, a licensed architect, draws from experience in all project phases to stay with clients from planning through construction. During programming, she communicates ideas that respond to stakeholder needs and concerns. She then leads design development, creates construction documents, and coordinates design partners such as engineers, life safety consultants, medical equipment vendors, and constructors.

Past and present clients include Northwestern Medicine (including Central DuPage Hospital and Delnor Community Hospital), Presence Health, Vassar Brothers Medical Center, and many others.

Saon enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her family. She holds a Master of Architecture from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Architecture from the JJ School of Architecture, University of Mumbai (India). She is a Certified Green Lean Belt (CGLB) endorsed by the International Association for Six Sigma Certification (IASSC), as well as a LEED Green Associate (LEED GA) certified by the US Green Building Council.
