Steve Blye, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, ACHE applies his boundless energy and enthusiasm to projects for hospital systems around the country. He quickly transforms client goals into descriptive drawing concepts. Then he leads design teams through all project phases while incorporating client and public input.
Steve received the Healthcare Facilities Conference and Expo’s Individual Award for profound contribution to the healthcare industry. Among his past and present healthcare clients are Children’s Memorial Hospital, Northwestern Medicine, Central DuPage Hospital, Delnor Community Hospital, Presence Health, Edward Hospital, Carolinas HealthCare System, and The Ohio State University.
Steve’s talents aren’t limited to healthcare design; Legat’s clients have tapped his skills for PreK-12, higher education, municipal, and corporate projects. His landmark designs in downtown Chicago include the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Prentice Women’s Hospital.
Steve is a member of the Lambda Alpha Land Economics Society and served on the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association’s 2025 Policy Plan committee. He has judged university student projects and national design competitions. Several galleries have displayed Steve’s watercolor paintings. He even illustrated “The Dangerous Pet,” a children’s book that teaches financial responsibility.
Steve studied architectural design at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana (UIUC) and at L’Unité Pédagogique d’Architecture III in Versailles, France. He received a Master of Architecture degree from UIUC.
