Ted Haug
Design Principal
Ted Haug, AIA, LEED AP BD+C finds joy in architecture’s ability to combine function and aesthetics. He analyzes problems, creates answers, and then combines them into a built whole.
Ted believes that every project, no matter how humble its scale or modest its budget, deserves a well-conceived solution and a beautiful design.
Aware that architecture is no longer a solitary profession, Ted makes sure that all the firm’s projects grow from the interaction of dedicated individuals and combined talents . . . owners included. That process continually leads to unexplored avenues of creativity.
During his 30+ years with Legat, Ted has embarked on many project types, scales, and levels of complexity. His expertise spans all the firm’s building segments. The profession has honored many of Ted’s projects, whether he managed them directly or advised teams.
Ted has served on several community boards and commissions, such as the North Lake YMCA and the Waukegan Planning and Zoning Commission.
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign presented Ted with the Bronze Tablet, the university’s highest honor for academic excellence. Ted earned his master’s and bachelor’s degrees there as well.
